Public support for the countryside sport of fox hunting before the government ban on hunting with dogs came into force in February 2005

The final Boxing Day fox hunt at Wentbridge before the ban on hunting with dogs came into force in February 2005. Over 1,000 people and 185 horses turned out in defiance of the governments proposals following a rallying call from hunt organisers for people to show their support for the countryside sport.

Whatever your views on fox hunting there can be no denying that the hunt forms a colourful sight worthy of documenting here and we are grateful to Pete Jackson for submitting the following images.
