AYSGARTH FALLS

Aysgarth Falls is one of my favourite locations within the Yorkshire Dales National Park and one of the most exciting to visit, especially after times of heavy rainfall when the falls increase in force and splendour. A short riverside walk of less than one mile links the upper, middle and lower falls and there are suitable viewing areas from where you can get close to the action and capture some memorable photographs.

Aysgarth lies in Wensleydale and stands on the river Ure where the water tumbles over broad limestone rocks creating the Aysgarth Falls.  The upper falls were featured in the Kevin Costner film 'Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves'. For visitors there is ample car parking within Aysgarth village and at the National Trust centre adjacent to Aysgarth Falls.
