RUNSWICK BAY
ESK VALLEY
Situated on Yorkshire's east coast between Whitby and Staithes in the Esk valley, Runswick Bay is a
delightful small coastal village full of charm and character seemingly
clinging to the cliffs at the foot of a very steep hill. The
sandy beach and sheltered bay with cliffs on either side proved an ideal location for fishermen
for almost 600 years but the future of Runswick Bay now lies in
tourism and its array of brightly painted cottages built into the cliff
face provide a delightful attraction.
Below are a small selection of photographs taken at Runswick Bay. Selecting
any image will open up a new window from where you can navigate through
the images as a slide show.
