In 2008 Wigginton
Methodist Church held a very successful Scarecrow Festival. During the
course of the weekend over 1,500 people took part with more than £2800
being raised for charity. We had over 100 different scarecrows, which
villagers had made, and four different trails for visitors to follow.
This year the event will be held
on Saturday May 2nd, Sunday May 3rd and Monday May 4th
Trails will be available for purchase from 10.30 am until 4 30 pm on each of these
days at Haxby and Wigginton Methodist Church. There will be refreshments
and light lunches served in the Methodist Church Hall until 6pm. There will be also be craft and
children’s activities taking place throughout the day.
